Procurement Category Manager (IT and Data)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization seeking a Procurement Category Manager (IT and Data) to join their team in Paris. Our client is scaling rapidly and needs a strategic procurement professional to drive cost optimization across indirect spend, with particular focus on IT and data categories.

This is a high-impact role where you'll define and execute procurement strategies for critical areas including data acquisition, SaaS platforms, and enterprise tooling. You'll work directly with business stakeholders to rationalize contracts, renegotiate agreements, and implement processes that reduce complexity while supporting growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead global negotiations on indirect spend to achieve measurable cost savings
• Define and execute procurement strategies specifically tailored for Data and IT categories
• Identify, manage, and optimize existing contracts, tools, and procurement needs including renewals and renegotiations
• Build and manage supplier panels to reduce fragmentation and strengthen governance
• Rationalize tool usage and consolidate internal requirements with business owners
• Lead end-to-end procurement projects from RFP development through contractualization
• Contribute to procurement digitization through P2P tool adoption and process improvement

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience as a Buyer or Category Manager, ideally in IT, SaaS, or data-related categories
• Proven track record negotiating with large providers in competitive or complex market conditions
• Strong project management capabilities to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously and align diverse stakeholders
• Assertiveness and excellent communication skills to push back constructively while building trusted relationships
• Adaptability and comfort operating in dynamic, fast-evolving environments
• Fluency in English; French language skills are advantageous given the Paris location
