Pricing Data Scientist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client in their search for a Pricing Data Scientist to join their London-based team. Our client operates in a high-growth environment where data science directly drives commercial outcomes, and this role offers genuine ownership over strategic pricing initiatives that impact millions of customers.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in the London office, ideal for a commercially-minded data scientist who wants to move beyond traditional GLM work and deploy cutting-edge models at scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of quote, policy, and claims data to derive actionable pricing insights
• Own strategic pricing initiatives including expansion planning and customer retention optimization
• Conduct claims analysis and modelling using SQL and Python
• Build and deploy models in APIs for real-time pricing applications
• Perform price optimization analysis and modelling in Python
• Identify and evaluate new external data sources to refine risk assessment
• Collaborate directly with Engineering and ML Engineering teams to implement pricing proposals
• Support pricing strategy for new product launches

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience in a data-driven, ideally commercial role
• Strong ability to interrogate data and conduct pricing analysis using SQL and Python/R
• Proven experience building GLMs, GBMs, and other predictive models in Python/R
• Proactive mindset with ability to identify and deliver new opportunities independently
• Commercial acumen to translate models into real-world business impact
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Curiosity-driven approach that challenges assumptions and investigates root causes
• Ability to take end-to-end ownership of transformation initiatives
• Collaborative style with ability to build relationships across functions
