Junior Security Operations Engineering Consultant (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity organization with operations in Frankfurt am Main. Our talent team is seeking a Junior Security Operations Engineering Consultant to join their growing SOC practice. This role offers exceptional learning opportunities in detection engineering, SIEM technologies, and security automation while working on projects for clients across multiple sectors.

As part of our client's team, you will assist with Security Operations Center projects, gaining hands-on exposure to log onboarding, detection engineering, and enterprise SIEM platforms. You'll work under the mentorship of experienced security professionals while contributing to real-world security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the onboarding of new log sources into SIEM platforms
• Troubleshoot issues with log sources and systems in collaboration with clients and vendors
• Create technical and process playbooks for security operations
• Define and configure correlation rules based on threat intelligence and customer requirements
• Contribute to incident response procedures and documentation
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the SOC field
• Communicate technical requirements and development plans to customers

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Citizenship in one of the 32 NATO member states or Austrian citizenship
• 1-2 years of practical experience in cybersecurity or IT (such as SOC Analyst role)
• Hands-on experience with Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Security stack, or SIEM technologies such as Elastic, Splunk, or LogPoint
• Excellent German and English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in collaborative team environments
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Positive, team-oriented, and mission-driven attitude

Preferred Skills:

• Scripting experience in Python or other automation languages
• Familiarity with SIEM query languages or interest in learning Sigma and YARA rules
• Relevant cybersecurity coursework or certifications
• Experience preparing and presenting technical work to colleagues
