About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software development organization based in Würzburg that is building an AI platform to integrate intelligent automation into business workflows. Our talent team is seeking a Python Backend Developer who takes ownership of reliable, production-grade systems and thrives in direct client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend backend platform services using Python and FastAPI
• Integrate AI agents, language models, and client applications through APIs and existing integration tools
• Ensure secure access controls, data protection, and reliable operations with Docker
• Extend existing React interfaces as needed and contribute to technical architecture decisions
• Advance AI-assisted development processes and build reusable skills and workflows
• Serve as a technical sparring partner for clients, clarifying requirements and delivering solutions
• Systematically troubleshoot issues and manage updates, backups, and credentials in production environments

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong experience with Python and backend development, ideally with FastAPI and asynchronous programming
• Practical knowledge of REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, and external integrations including robust error handling
• Proficiency with Docker/Docker Compose, Linux, and PostgreSQL
• Production application experience: ability to systematically isolate errors and safely handle updates, backups, and access credentials
• Solid understanding of Git, automated testing, and foundational JavaScript/React knowledge
• Expert-level skills in AI-driven software development: confident use of coding agents and harnesses from planning through implementation to quality assurance
• Experience creating reusable skills, adapting existing ones, and deploying AI agents with clear instructions, appropriate context, and proper tooling
• Independent, reliable work style with enthusiasm for clarifying requirements with teams and clients
• Conviction that AI is fundamentally transforming software development, with willingness to actively shape this change while critically evaluating tool outputs and taking responsibility for code quality
• Flexibility, solution-oriented thinking, and comfort with direct customer contact in flat hierarchies

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with LLM APIs, tool calling, or similar integration protocols
• Knowledge of specialized AI development tools and frameworks

Location: Würzburg, Germany – remote, hybrid, or on-site arrangements available
