Precast Design Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential engineering firm seeking a Precast Design Engineer to lead concrete component design across civil and structural projects. In this role, you will:

• Lead and execute precast engineering and design tasks, delivering structurally sound and cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with project teams to develop precast concrete designs that meet safety, durability, and aesthetic requirements
• Perform and review structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs withstand various loads and conditions
• Select appropriate materials and components for precast concrete production that align with strength and sustainability standards
• Create accurate drawings, plans, and specifications for precast projects following industry design standards
• Support cost estimation for materials and project budgeting
• Partner with Project Managers and Designers throughout the project lifecycle
• Implement QA/QC processes to guarantee quality deliverables
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings the following qualifications and expertise:

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
• 5-10 years minimum experience in precast concrete design engineering
• Experience with transportation infrastructure and underground structures such as utility vaults, manholes, drainage structures, and pump stations strongly preferred
• Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, ASCE-7, and AASHTO standards
• Knowledge of IBC codes is a plus
• Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and RISA 3D
• Strong organizational and planning skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Proven ability to deliver quality work through critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment
• Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative mindset with dedication to building trusting professional relationships
