Pre-Certification Coordinator 2

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Pre-Certification Coordinator 2 to join their revenue cycle clinical support team. This is a remote position working regular business hours.

In this role, you'll serve as an expert in verifying benefits for outpatient, inpatient, and ambulatory surgery services. You'll obtain prior authorizations for visits, procedures, and hospitalizations, ensuring accurate pre-approvals, referrals, and predeterminations for electively scheduled admissions and outpatient services.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations for scheduled medical services across multiple service lines
• Provide accurate, up-to-date information to clinical staff and patients regarding products, services, and procedures
• Schedule return appointments and coordinate appointment logistics as assigned
• Ensure accurate collection of appointment, demographic, and insurance information to support clinical and financial operations
• Process insurance changes and patient information updates in a timely manner
• Coordinate physician and patient requests, resolving needs in a single transaction whenever possible
• Solve routine and complex customer service issues, directing inquiries appropriately
• Communicate regularly with clinical staff, medical secretaries, and department personnel to meet service expectations
• Utilize electronic medical records, scheduling systems, registration platforms, eligibility verification tools, and document management software

What We're Looking For

• Required: High school diploma or GED
• Required: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in healthcare revenue cycle, pre-certification, or patient access
• Preferred: 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Preferred: Certification or vocational training in healthcare administration or related field
• Strong proficiency with multiple software systems including EMR platforms, scheduling tools, and insurance verification systems
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clinical staff and patients
• Ability to manage complex authorization requirements and solve customer service challenges
• Detail-oriented approach to data entry and information verification
• Professional demeanor and ability to create positive first impressions
