Our talent team is representing a leading French research institution in the microelectronics and bioelectronics sector. This confidential organization operates advanced cleanroom facilities in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and collaborates with international academic and clinical partners on cutting-edge technologies at the intersection of electronics, materials science, and life sciences.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join their bioelectronics research group for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role focuses on developing flexible organic photodetectors and readout electronics for high-resolution calcium imaging applications in neuroscience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and micro-fabricate miniaturized flexible organic photodetectors (OPD) for high-resolution multipixel array applications
• Develop flexible readout electronics based on field-effect transistors (FET) to amplify and measure low photocurrents generated by OPDs
• Study physical limitations related to photodetector miniaturization and establish design rules by analyzing dark current, noise, detectivity, and dynamic range
• Perform comprehensive electrical and optical characterization of OPD–FET platforms under illumination conditions representative of calcium imaging
• Analyze device performance to optimize integration into high-density flexible arrays for neural imaging
• Publish research findings in scientific journals and present at international conferences
• Work autonomously in an interdisciplinary environment, bridging fundamental research, technological development, and health applications

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• PhD (completed or near completion) in electrical engineering, microelectronics, biomedical engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering
• Strong background in microfabrication and cleanroom experience
• Proven experience in organic electronics and/or photodetector fabrication
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical and optical characterization techniques
• Proficiency in English (C1 level) and programming skills in MATLAB or Python for data analysis

Preferred Experience:

• 3 years of experience in organic electronics
• Background in organic solar cells or optoelectronic devices
• Experience with sensor characterization
• Strong interest in interdisciplinary research combining electronics, materials, and biological sciences
• Experience working in international research environments
