About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading French research and engineering institution in the microelectronics sector. Our client operates at the forefront of flexible and stretchable electronics, developing autonomous wearable systems and environmental monitoring solutions. This 12-month fixed-term contract is based in Gardanne, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.

As a Post-Doctoral Researcher or Engineer specializing in autonomous electronic systems design, you will join a department focused on flexible electronics applications. This role combines hands-on research and development with teaching responsibilities in a specialized master's program.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop autonomous sensor systems and energy interfaces for stretchable electronics in environmental monitoring and wearable applications
• Create and deliver approximately 25 hours of coursework on autonomous systems design for graduate-level students in microelectronics
• Design and implement custom sensor and power interfaces for system demonstrators
• Develop microcontroller-based systems from concept through prototype
• Design and fabricate electronic circuit boards for research prototypes
• Collaborate with research teams to test and validate innovative prototypes
• Contribute to multiple departmental projects involving self-powered and autonomous monitoring devices

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• PhD or engineering degree (or equivalent) in electronics
• Practical experience developing microcontroller-based systems
• Hands-on experience with electronic circuit board design and fabrication
• Strong knowledge of analog electronics
• Junior candidates accepted if relevant internship or project experience is demonstrated
• Fluency in French required for teaching responsibilities

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of electronic integration processes on flexible substrates
• Practical "maker" mindset and strong problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in collaborative R&D environments
• Demonstrated autonomy and initiative
• Ability to bridge academic research with practical applications

Contract Details

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract (CDD) under French public law, full-time, starting February 1, 2027. The position is open to French civil service employees (Category A) and contractual personnel. An administrative background check may be conducted.

The role offers 49 days of paid leave and RTT, partial remote work options, 75% reimbursement of public transportation costs, and financial support for carpooling and cycling.
