About the Role
We're seeking dedicated law enforcement professionals to maintain safety and security across our campus. Whether you're beginning your law enforcement journey as a trainee or bringing established expertise as a master officer, you'll play a vital role in fostering a secure environment where our students, faculty, and staff can thrive.
What You'll Do
- Conduct regular campus patrols and respond to emergency calls
- Investigate incidents and prepare detailed incident reports
- Enforce laws and institutional policies fairly and professionally
- Build community relationships to foster trust and prevent crime
- Document evidence and maintain accurate departmental records
- Respond swiftly to emergencies and coordinate with emergency services
- Provide assistance and support to students, faculty, and campus visitors
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED (minimum education requirement)
- Eligibility to enroll in and complete the North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Academy as recognized by the NC Criminal Justice Education Training and Standards Commission
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation meeting all standards set by the hiring agency and NC CJETSC
- Physical fitness and capability to meet law enforcement physical agility standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and public service
- For Master Police Officer candidates: relevant law enforcement experience and current certifications
