Senior Construction Litigation Attorney

Attorneys is seeking a Senior Construction Litigation Attorney to join its White Plains, Westchester County office at Wilson Elser, a nationally recognized law firm.

About the Role

This full‑time position focuses on managing complex construction‑related disputes for a diverse client base that includes developers, contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals. You will lead litigation matters from inception through trial, providing strategic counsel and aggressive representation in state and federal courts across the New York metropolitan area.

What You'll Do

• Oversee all phases of construction litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in construction defect, delay, bond, and mechanic’s lien claims, as well as OSHA and safety‑related matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive motions, briefs, and appellate documents.
• Manage expert witnesses, coordinate site inspections, and prepare exhibits for mediation, arbitration, and trial.
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance to junior attorneys and paralegals, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Maintain active client relationships, delivering clear status updates and practical risk‑management advice.
• Stay current with evolving construction law, industry standards, and relevant case developments.

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York State Bar.
• Minimum of seven years of litigation experience, with a substantial focus on construction defect, contract, or surety matters.
• Proven ability to independently handle large‑scale, multi‑party disputes and lead trial teams.
• Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills, complemented by a detail‑oriented approach.
• Experience with e‑discovery tools and familiarity with modern litigation support platforms.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
