About the Role

As a Senior GL - Auto Defense Litigation Attorney in San Diego, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of general liability and auto defense cases, from initial intake through resolution. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, providing strategic counsel and overseeing every phase of litigation—discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation. This role offers the opportunity to shape case strategy, build client relationships, and contribute to the firm's reputation for excellence in auto defense and GL litigation.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage general liability and auto defense cases from inception through trial or settlement
• Counsel clients on case strategy, risk assessment, and litigation decisions
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
• Conduct depositions and prepare for trial
• Negotiate settlements and manage case timelines
• Collaborate with defense counsel, insurers, and claim representatives
• Mentor junior attorneys and support team development
• Maintain compliance with court rules, ethical standards, and client objectives

What We're Looking For

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active California bar license (or reciprocal admission)
• Substantial experience in general liability and auto defense litigation
• Demonstrated trial and deposition experience
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent client communication and relationship management abilities
• Professional judgment and ethical commitment
• Ability to work independently and lead within a team environment
