Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential telecommunications client seeking a Network Engineer for their Wiesbaden location. In this role, you will take ownership of planning, operating, and advancing core and backbone network environments.
- Plan, operate, and optimize backbone and data center networks
- Administer and maintain an Autonomous System (AS), including BGP peering and transit connections
- Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS)
- Manage network components from vendors including Juniper, Arista, and Dell
- Analyze and resolve network incidents (2nd-/3rd-level support)
- Contribute to the development of network topology and security concepts
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Participate in on-call rotation for technical support
What We're Looking For
- Completed vocational training or degree in IT (e.g., IT Specialist in System Integration, Computer Science, or similar)
- Professional experience in service provider or data center network environments
- Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and working with Autonomous Systems (AS)
- Experience with hardware from Juniper, Arista, and Dell is advantageous
- Confident handling of IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, Spanning Tree, LACP, EVPN/VXLAN
- Structured and independent working style
- Team spirit and strong communication skills
- Excellent German language skills (written and spoken), plus good English proficiency
- Residence in the Rhine-Main area or willingness to work on-site occasionally
