Mistral Cloud – Software Engineer, Managed Kubernetes

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AI infrastructure organization seeking Software Engineers to join their Compute platform team in Paris. You'll architect and maintain on-demand Kubernetes clusters with GPU support for training, inference, and general-purpose CPU workloads at scale.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud infrastructure challenges in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. The position is based in Paris with strong preference for candidates who can work from the office regularly to support team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable control plane services, operators, and custom controllers for Kubernetes
• Develop automation for cluster lifecycle management including provisioning, upgrades, patching, and decommissioning
• Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
• Create workflows, tools, APIs, and CLIs to enable teams to deploy and monitor inference services efficiently
• Design resilient systems capable of gracefully handling failures in large-scale distributed environments
• Identify and resolve unique cluster issues at a low level, documenting findings for future reference
• Participate in on-call rotations to respond to incidents and perform root cause analysis

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps, or SRE
• Strong coding proficiency, ideally in Golang, with knowledge of software development best practices
• Mastery of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to site reliability issues in critical environments including root cause analysis, production troubleshooting, and on-call rotations
• Experience working against reliability KPIs including observability, alerting, and SLAs
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to own and deliver end-to-end features with minimal oversight
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative attitude
• Team-oriented, humble, and eager to learn
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration concepts

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with high-performance computing systems and workload managers like Slurm
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
• Deep expertise in networking, storage, security, and system administration
