About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential managed care organization in North Carolina that coordinates health services across a large multi-county service area. Our client is seeking a Medical Economics Analyst II to join their Finance team in a fully remote capacity within North Carolina.

This role focuses on analyzing rate trends, developing insights into key financial drivers, and communicating findings to stakeholders across the organization. You'll work with behavioral health, physical health, and pharmacy data to support strategic rate-setting initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement analytics and economics strategies around provider rates
  • Analyze healthcare data and rates using Excel, SQL, Access, and other analytical tools
  • Utilize industry trends and Medicaid fee schedules to drive decision-making
  • Prepare presentations and collateral materials to support rate initiatives
  • Participate in rates process improvement projects
  • Provide technical training and support to team members

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications (one of the following):

  • High school diploma or GED and six years of experience in healthcare analytics or medical economics, including experience with Excel or developing and writing code
  • Associate's degree and four years of experience in healthcare analytics or medical economics, including experience with Excel or developing and writing code
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in healthcare analytics or medical economics, including experience with Excel or developing and writing code
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must reside within North Carolina
  • Ability to travel within the service area as required

Preferred:

  • Two or more years of experience in the Managed Care industry
