Head of Clinical Data Innovation (Remote, IT)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential biopharmaceutical organization with a global presence in rare disease research and development. Our client is seeking a Head of Clinical Data Innovation to lead the transformation of clinical data management through emerging technologies, AI, and advanced analytics. This is a remote opportunity based in Italy, ideal for a strategic leader who can bridge clinical development, data science, and digital innovation.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will define and execute the clinical data innovation strategy across a rare disease portfolio. Your key responsibilities include:

• Define and maintain the clinical data innovation roadmap aligned with organizational objectives
• Lead evaluation, implementation, and governance of AI-enabled solutions for data review, cleaning, query generation, medical coding, and risk-based quality management
• Drive modernization of clinical data management processes and operating models to improve scalability and efficiency
• Act as business owner and subject matter expert for clinical data technologies including EDC platforms, data lake architectures, analytics environments, and AI platforms
• Promote advanced analytics and visualization to enable near real-time monitoring of data quality, study conduct, and operational performance
• Build and manage a portfolio of innovation initiatives, prioritizing projects according to strategic value, feasibility, and ROI
• Partner with stakeholders across Clinical Data Management, Biostatistics, Statistical Programming, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and IT
• Develop organizational capabilities in AI, automation, and innovative data practices while fostering a culture of continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO environments with strong exposure to clinical development
• Solid experience in Clinical Data Management and the clinical trial data lifecycle
• Proven experience with AI, automation, advanced analytics, and digital innovation applied to clinical development
• Experience with clinical data technologies, data architecture, interoperability, and data standards
• Strong cross-functional leadership experience across Clinical Development, Data Management, Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, and IT/Digital
• Demonstrated track record of leading clinical data innovation and transformation initiatives, including vendor and technology management

Location: Remote in Italy, with hybrid options available

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: Starting from €59,000 annually, with final compensation reflecting your skills, experience, and qualifications. This role is eligible for annual bonus participation based on company and individual performance.
