Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital health organization in Berlin that is seeking a Medical Director to lead their medical content strategy and team. In this role, you will:

  • Own the medical curriculum strategy for a large continuing medical education platform, determining which topics and clinical areas receive coverage based on evidence, relevance, and market gaps
  • Build and maintain relationships with chief physicians and key opinion leaders, continuously sourcing new educational content ideas from these networks
  • Lead and develop a seven-person medical team, including two full-time medical editors and five student contributors who handle quality control, course descriptions, and topic development
  • Collaborate on new educational formats including video content, panel discussions, e-learning modules, short-form videos, and gamified learning experiences, providing the critical medical and physician perspective
  • Manage project workflows and coordinate with faculty to ensure content meets project requirements and maintains medical accuracy
  • Ensure all educational content meets CME standards, remains evidence-based, and fulfills regulatory compliance requirements
  • Streamline processes and drive automation initiatives as the organization scales, serving as the key liaison for cross-departmental collaboration and workflow optimization

What We're Looking For

  • Completed medical degree (M.D. or equivalent)
  • Ideally 5+ years of professional experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical industry, or digital health
  • Previous team leadership experience strongly preferred; ability to develop people and set clear priorities is essential
  • Hands-on mentality with willingness to handle operational tasks directly rather than only delegating
  • Enthusiasm for project management, building structures, and medical content development or medical education—this combination is core to the role
  • Startup experience and background in medical education are advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with confidence engaging senior physicians and industry partners, both verbally and in writing
  • Native-level German and fluent English required
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin
