Manager, System Engineering

Pixlr Group is seeking a Manager, System Engineering to join our team in Bandar Sunway, Selangor, Malaysia. In this full-time position, you will lead and build our systems engineering capability, ensuring reliability, performance, and infrastructure excellence across the organisation.

What This Role Involves

As Manager, System Engineering, you will oversee the strategy, implementation, and continuous evolution of our critical systems and infrastructure. This role combines technical leadership with strategic planning—you'll guide your engineering team through complex infrastructure challenges whilst remaining hands-on in architectural decisions. You'll partner with product and software engineering teams to define system requirements, establish reliability standards, and drive operational improvements that strengthen service quality and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a systems engineering team, fostering technical growth and strong problem-solving culture
• Design, deploy, and optimise infrastructure, deployment systems, and monitoring solutions that support platform stability and scalability
• Establish and enforce operational standards, security practices, and reliability frameworks across engineering functions
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define technical roadmaps, resolve infrastructure bottlenecks, and implement robust solutions
• Oversee disaster recovery planning, business continuity measures, and system resilience programmes
• Champion automation and tooling initiatives that reduce operational overhead and improve team velocity
• Track system performance, reliability metrics, and key indicators; communicate technical progress and risks to stakeholders

Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability engineering roles
• Proven track record leading technical teams and mentoring engineers
• Deep expertise with cloud platforms, containerisation technologies, and orchestration frameworks
• Strong background in system design, networking, databases, and deployment methodologies
• Working knowledge of observability, monitoring tools, and reliability concepts such as SLOs and error budgets
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities across technical and non-technical audiences
• Strategic thinking combined with practical, execution-focused mindset
