About the Role

As an International PFAS Forensics Subject Matter Expert at CDM Smith, you will serve as a technical authority on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), guiding forensic source evaluation, contamination assessment, and litigation-support work across international projects. Based in Lansing, Ingham County, this position places you at the center of meaningful, high-impact engagements where your expertise directly influences project outcomes and client strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply advanced PFAS forensic methods to identify contamination sources, pathways, and responsible parties.
• Provide subject matter leadership on international environmental investigations and remediation efforts.
• Interpret analytical data and translate technical findings into clear, defensible conclusions.
• Support expert testimony, regulatory engagement, and litigation matters tied to PFAS.

Qualifications

• Recognized expertise in PFAS chemistry, environmental forensics, and contaminant fate and transport.
• Demonstrated experience leading or advising on complex environmental investigations.
• Strong analytical, interpretive, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to contribute across international projects and engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to work on-site in Lansing, Ingham County, in a full-time capacity.
