About the Role

As a Foster Care Caseworker Intern, you will gain practical, supervised experience in foster care services at one of Illinois' most established youth and family organizations. This position is offered for Summer and Fall 2026. Please note that all internships through Childrens Home Association Of Illinois are unpaid. The role is full-time and on-site in Peoria County — it is not a remote opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Support licensed caseworkers in coordinating foster care services for children and families
• Assist with case documentation, record-keeping, and required reporting
• Participate in client visits, meetings, and service planning under staff supervision
• Help connect families with community resources and support programs
• Contribute to the day-to-day work of CHAIL's foster care team at the Vets Row location

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field
• Genuine interest in foster care, child welfare, and family services
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Dependable, organized, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion
• Available to commit to a full-time schedule on-site in Peoria County for the Summer or Fall 2026 term
