Role Overview

As Manager, Private Investment Research at Rallyassets in Toronto, ON, you will shape how private investment ideas are sourced, evaluated, and communicated. Core Duties

• Direct research programmes covering private investment opportunities, including private equity, private credit, and related alternative strategies
• Plan and oversee due diligence workstreams, financial modelling, and valuation analysis for prospective and existing investments
• Produce clear research memos, risk assessments, and presentations that support investment committee and portfolio discussions
• Track private market trends, competitive dynamics, and performance of holdings, then flag material changes for the team
• Coordinate research calendars, quality checks, and knowledge sharing so analyses remain timely and consistent
• Partner with investment colleagues to refine opportunity screens, challenges, and follow-up research questions
• Coach junior researchers on methods, documentation standards, and professional judgement where the team structure allows

Who We're Looking For

• Substantial experience in private investment research, alternatives research, or a closely related investment analysis role
• Strong command of financial modelling, valuation approaches, and qualitative due diligence for private assets
• Working knowledge of private markets structures, terms, and risk factors typical of institutional-style private investing
• Ability to lead research projects end to end, manage multiple priorities, and deliver findings under deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication suited to both detailed reports and concise stakeholder updates
• Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline; advanced study or CFA charter is welcome where it strengthens the profile
• Collaborative style, intellectual curiosity, and comfort working on-site with colleagues in Toronto, ON
