Manager / Associate Director, Corporate Tax Advisory

Responsibilities

We are representing a leading financial advisory firm in London that is seeking a Manager or Associate Director to join their Corporate Tax Advisory practice. This role focuses on providing tax expertise for financially distressed businesses undergoing restructuring processes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with financial advisory colleagues and external stakeholders including lenders, borrowers, and legal advisors to understand the commercial and legal requirements of restructuring transactions
• Developing tax-efficient strategies to achieve commercial objectives
• Reviewing and preparing advisory reports outlining the steps necessary to execute transactions
• Advising insolvency practitioners on the tax consequences of their proposed actions
• Providing guidance on tax return submissions and other documentation for tax authorities, and liaising with HMRC as required
• Supporting business development activities and building relationships with internal teams and key clients
• Contributing to the technical and professional development of junior team members

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• ACA/CTA qualification or equivalent professional qualification or experience
• Strong UK corporation tax technical knowledge
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management capabilities
• The ability to perform effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments

Prior experience with transactions or insolvency processes is preferred but not essential for exceptional candidates.

This is a primarily advisory-focused role with some compliance responsibilities. You'll work on a diverse mix of UK and international restructuring matters including debt restructuring, debt-for-equity swaps, business reconstructions via Restructuring Plans, Schemes of Arrangement, CVAs, and insolvency appointments.
