PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician I for our Hollywood facility in Los Angeles County, with a salary range of $21.97 to $26.36 per hour. In this essential role, you'll maintain housing communities throughout our operations, ensuring safe, clean, and functioning facilities for the families and individuals we serve.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician I, you'll work under supervision to perform a wide range of building upkeep and repair work across our facilities. Your responsibilities will include preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, grounds care, and coordination with other team members to keep our residential communities operating smoothly and safely. The position requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as you'll travel between multiple facilities in Los Angeles County.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine repairs and maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical work
- Maintain clean, well-organized facilities—including grounds, common areas, and residential units—according to safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with apartment turnover preparation: painting, cleaning, lock installation, and minor renovations
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, water heaters, HVAC equipment, and other building systems
- Respond to maintenance requests and safety concerns promptly, documenting all work orders and repairs
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and track completed tasks to prevent problems before they develop
- Operate hand and power tools safely, following all applicable regulations and best practices
- Support facility compliance with safety standards and participate in emergency response when needed
- Collaborate with facility staff and management to prioritize maintenance needs and requests
What We're Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately and thoroughly
- Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Problem-solving ability and willingness to take initiative on maintenance tasks
- Commitment to safety and professional standards
- Ability to work independently while following supervision and contributing to team goals
- Preferred: High school diploma or GED; two years of multi-family apartment maintenance experience

- Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to pass background screening, tuberculosis test, and drug screening as a condition of employment
