We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Lead Product Designer, Growth for their Cardiff location. This is a unique opportunity to shape how customers discover and engage with digital banking experiences through exceptional web design and data-informed experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of high-quality web experiences that help new and existing customers discover product value and make informed financial decisions
• Use quantitative and qualitative data to identify opportunities, understand customer behavior, and make informed design decisions
• Transform customer and business problems into clear hypotheses, design experiments, and iterate based on learnings
• Deliver exceptional visual and interaction craft to web experiences, creating work that drives meaningful customer and commercial outcomes
• Tackle complex and ambiguous design challenges, balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints
• Define compelling product visions and direction, helping teams think beyond individual experiments toward coherent long-term customer experiences
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Research throughout the design process
• Leverage AI tools to enhance design workflow including ideation, analysis, prototyping, and production code
• Take a pragmatic approach to experimentation—moving quickly to learn while knowing when experiences require higher craft and polish
• Act as a role model in Design, sharing work broadly, mentoring others, and contributing to the growth of the wider Design team

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record designing high-quality web experiences with a portfolio demonstrating strong visual and interaction design craft
• Comfort using data to inform design decisions, partnering with Data Scientists or Analysts to understand customer behavior and measure impact
• Ability to connect great customer experiences with measurable outcomes and understand how design contributes to product and commercial goals
• Experience forming hypotheses, experimenting with different approaches, and adapting thinking based on learning
• Skill balancing speed and experimentation with high craft standards, knowing when to prototype quickly versus invest in exceptional final experiences
• Natural collaboration skills to bring together cross-functional partners around complex customer problems
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and create clarity and direction when answers aren't immediately obvious
• Capability thinking beyond individual screens or experiments, connecting work across journeys and shaping longer-term vision
• Role model qualities who actively contributes to Design team growth through mentoring, feedback, and sharing expertise
• Strong web design portfolio showcasing end-to-end customer journeys and growth-focused work
