Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition – Toulouse, France

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential AI technology client seeking a Software Engineer for Data Infrastructure & Acquisition in Toulouse, France. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of data collection supporting model training operations at petabyte scale.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Identifying and integrating new sources of audio data into the ingestion pipeline
• Operating and extending cloud infrastructure for data ingestion, using GCP and Terraform
• Collaborating with research scientists to optimize the cost/throughput/quality balance, delivering richer datasets at larger scale and lower cost
• Working with the AI team and leadership to develop the dataset roadmap for next-generation products
• Managing large-scale data processing workflows in a distributed cloud environment

What We're Looking For

Our client requires candidates with:

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments
• Strong expertise in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• Professional experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP experience preferred)
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
