Lead People Partner – Technology

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization operating across Africa, Europe and the UK. Our talent team is recruiting for a Lead People Partner - Technology based in London (fully remote within UK/Europe considered).

This is a senior HR leadership role partnering directly with technology executives to shape people strategy for a globally distributed engineering organization at significant scale. You'll own the people agenda across Engineering, Data, Analytics, IT and Security functions, with direct accountability for workforce planning, org design, and team effectiveness in a fast-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted strategic advisor to the CTO and technology leadership team, aligning people priorities to business roadmap and organizational evolution
• Lead workforce planning, levelling frameworks, and structural transformation for a senior, globally distributed engineering population
• Own end-to-end people partnering accountability across both Technology and Product organizations
• Manage and develop one Senior People Partner who covers Product and adjacent functions
• Drive org design initiatives including spans and layers, capability mapping, and function redesign during simultaneous scaling and reshaping
• Partner with Centers of Excellence to leverage people analytics for decision-making on attrition, engagement, capability and cost
• Optimize performance and team dynamics across multi-country, asynchronous working environments
• Handle complex, senior-level employee relations matters across multiple jurisdictions
• Provide coaching and capability development to raise partnering standards across your portfolio

What We're Looking For

Essential experience and skills:

• Significant senior HR generalist experience partnering with engineering or platform organizations in scaling technology or fintech environments
• Demonstrated experience leading or coaching HR business partners, with ability to elevate someone else's performance
• Proven org design expertise: you've led real structural change initiatives (levelling, spans/layers, function redesign), not just supported them
• Strategic and operational range: comfortable designing long-term organizational strategy while also working at team level
• Experience supporting cross-cultural, remote-first teams across multiple countries and regions
• Strong business acumen with ability to translate people priorities into business outcomes at C-level
• Comfortable operating autonomously with senior technology leadership
• Sound employee relations judgement across multiple jurisdictions, understanding when to own issues versus engaging specialist support
• Genuine fluency in how engineering organizations are built, levelled, and retained—not just adjacency to technical functions

Useful but not essential:

• UK/Europe employment law exposure given the geographical distribution of the engineering population
