Senior Test Manager (m/w/d) Teststrategie, QA & IT Consulting

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential IT consulting organization seeking a Senior Test Manager to take ownership of quality assurance in demanding client projects. In this role, you will develop and implement test strategies and concepts for agile IT initiatives, coordinating test activities across multiple phases while maintaining clear visibility into risks, defects, and quality status.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing test strategies, test concepts, and test plans for agile IT projects
• Planning, coordinating, and monitoring test activities across various test phases
• Managing system, integration, and acceptance testing while tracking dependencies and risks
• Serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholder management with program management, product owners, development teams, and other interfaces
• Reviewing and optimizing functional test cases, supporting manual GUI and interface testing when needed
• Evaluating bugs, supporting prioritization efforts, and persistently tracking defect resolution
• Creating transparency through test reporting, status updates, and management presentations
• Documenting key decisions regarding test environments and test architecture
• Advising frontend and backend teams on holistic quality assurance approaches
• Working with tools such as Tosca, XRay, Ranorex, Postman, SilkCentral Testmanager, or HP ALM depending on project requirements

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone with substantial hands-on experience in software testing and QA environments—ideally at least three years. You should possess solid knowledge of test management, test methods, test procedures, and relevant tooling.

The ideal candidate brings:

• Proven ability to not only understand test strategies and concepts but to implement them systematically in practice
• Experience with complex IT and client projects, navigating confidently between technical teams and business stakeholders
• Clear communication skills with the ability to align diverse interests and the assertiveness to consistently advocate for quality standards
• ISTQB certification (such as Certified Tester, Technical Test Analyst, Certified Agile Tester, or Advanced Level Test Management) is a strong plus
• Willingness to travel within Germany for important meetings and project phases
• German language proficiency at C1 level minimum, as client projects are conducted primarily in German

Location: Hamburg, hybrid work model with remote flexibility and project-dependent travel
