Junior Software Engineer (Colombia)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Junior Software Engineer based in Colombia. Our client is building innovative payment and commerce solutions, and we're looking for motivated early-career engineers to join their growing development team. Responsibilities

• Participate actively in the software development lifecycle from design through deployment
• Develop new features as an integrated member of the engineering team
• Write clean, maintainable code that complies with coding standards and technical design requirements
• Build and maintain single page web applications and backend APIs
• Work with relational databases for data storage and retrieval
• Contribute to unit, integration, and end-to-end testing efforts
• Document functionality and technical decisions
• Evaluate and help deploy software tools, processes, and metrics
• Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards

What We're Looking For

• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• 0-3 years of professional software development experience
• Experience working on single page web applications (SPA)
• Experience with backend API development
• Experience with relational database storage and retrieval
• Familiarity with software engineering tools, development methodology, and release processes
• Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools; candidates must be comfortable leveraging AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication
• High standards for code quality and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies

Technical Environment: Our client uses Golang for backend development, React and React Native for frontend, MySQL and Postgres databases, AWS and Kubernetes for infrastructure, and GitLab for CI/CD. Experience with these specific technologies is beneficial but not required for junior candidates with strong fundamentals.

Pay
