Lead Cloud and Data Security Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization in their search for a Lead Cloud and Data Security Engineer. This is a critical technical leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise security architecture across cloud platforms and data protection systems. You'll work at the intersection of strategy and execution, leading security initiatives that protect a global operation while mentoring team members and serving as the escalation point for complex security incidents.

This position is based in the United States and offers the opportunity to shape security standards for a large-scale enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and implement enterprise security solutions following industry best practices and regulatory guidelines
• Establish security configuration and controls for Microsoft cloud architectures and other cloud platforms
• Lead large, complex global security projects, delegating work and ensuring alignment with business and technology objectives
• Build and manage the overall employee security awareness strategy and training programs
• Provide senior technical support for operational security including data protection tools, cloud security configuration, and identity management
• Serve as escalation point for Office 365 security, data protection, and enterprise security incidents
• Manage employee phishing simulations and security training platforms
• Provide technical leadership for complex security incidents and prepare remediation plans requiring executive engagement
• Conduct post-incident analysis to determine root cause and implement preventive measures
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies for internal and external technology solutions

What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's degree required
• Experience: Minimum 8 years in IT with at least 5 years focused on security and technical support
• Certifications: CISSP, SANS GIAC, CISM, or Cloud Security Alliance certifications preferred
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 security and compliance capabilities
• Thorough understanding of Data Loss Prevention and Microsoft 365 Enterprise Mobility + Security solutions
• Deep expertise in Active Directory, LDAP concepts, and system integrations
• Knowledge of Azure cloud solutions and security architecture
• Understanding of financial and IT risk management, regulatory compliance, and vendor risk management
• Experience with Identity Management, Single Sign-On, and data protection tools
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to develop and implement new security initiatives
• Excellent project management capabilities
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with professional demeanor
• Ability to capture business requirements, build technical specifications, and present findings to leadership
