Infrastructure Engineer – Deployments (d/f/m)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential industrial technology organization seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to own the reliable delivery and deployment of software systems across customer environments. You will ensure deployments are automated, resilient, and adaptable to diverse on-premise and hybrid infrastructures.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Execute end-to-end deployments across on-premise and hybrid environments, including software rollout, commissioning, and go-live support
• Configure and validate infrastructure components (compute, storage, clusters, networking, mTLS) to ensure production readiness
• Troubleshoot and resolve deployment and infrastructure issues; provide escalation support to customer success teams
• Develop and maintain deployment automation, runbooks, and standardized procedures
• Implement automated rollback and recovery workflows while improving CI/CD-driven deployment processes
• Monitor system health and capacity; manage lifecycle activities including patching, upgrades, and maintenance
• Implement and test backup and recovery strategies, ensuring compliance with recovery objectives
• Coordinate with customer IT and internal teams on network, security, and hardware integration requirements
• Document site-specific configurations and provide feedback to improve architecture, tooling, and deployment processes
• Support continuous improvement by optimizing workflows and maintaining internal test environments

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong experience with Linux systems administration and container runtimes (Docker, Docker Compose)
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes-based systems in production environments
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts including VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and OT/IT environments
• Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or similar) and version control using Git
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex technical environments
• Experience with certificate management and PKI

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with air-gapped or restricted-network deployments
• Familiarity with Helm and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or FluxCD
• Knowledge of industrial networks and OT/IT convergence
• Experience with Debian/Linux packaging
• Relevant certifications such as RHCE, LPIC, or CKA
