Insurance Billing Special Utilities Rep – Digitech – Remote

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization that provides specialized billing and revenue cycle solutions to the emergency medical services sector. They are seeking an Insurance Billing Special Utilities Representative to join their remote operations team. This is a fully remote, work-from-home position working Monday through Friday on an Eastern Time schedule.

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving complex insurance claims issues, including claims that are pending, denied, or incorrectly processed. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining full HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review and resolve claims that have been placed on hold, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to move them forward
• Research and address claims marked as paid by locating corresponding deposit information
• Complete basic credentialing updates with various insurance carriers
• Review patient accounts with multiple service events to ensure proper coordination of benefits within the billing system
• Process and respond to all lockbox correspondence including denial EOBs, patient invoices, and attorney requests
• Document all findings and actions accurately in the appropriate systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance and quality standards
• Conduct outbound communication with insurance companies to collect claim status updates, deposit information, and resolve billing issues
• Manage additional duties as assigned to support overall team objectives

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute
• Demonstrated ability to handle high volumes of work while meeting tight deadlines
• Understanding of insurance claims processes and terminology
• Ability to communicate calmly and effectively by phone while maintaining a professional image
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information and solutions professionally
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work product
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and complete assigned work independently
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage all aspects of the role in a remote work environment
• Ability to maintain a professional, quiet workspace free from distractions that could impact customer interactions
