About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential life sciences organization seeking a Business Development Manager for the DACH region. This fully remote position based in Germany offers the opportunity to drive growth in one of Europe's most strategic markets, working with cutting-edge biotechnology clients in the cell and gene therapy space.
As part of the EMEA Sales Team, you will manage complex, high-value sales cycles and build executive-level relationships with key decision-makers in the biopharma sector. This role demands a seasoned sales professional who can navigate multi-million dollar deals while mentoring peers and championing continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Consistently meet or exceed assigned orders goals, pipeline metrics, and key performance indicators while maintaining rigorous CRM discipline and accurate forecasting
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to gain market share, launch new offerings, and diversify revenue streams within existing accounts
- Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting to close for complex, high-value opportunities ($1M+) using a consultative selling approach
- Lead cross-functional teams internally and externally to tailor solutions and successfully close deals
- Cultivate and sustain trust-based relationships with senior and executive leadership at client organizations to influence buying decisions
- Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring the value proposition is clearly communicated and aligned with client needs
- Proactively identify and engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to drive growth and market penetration
- Coach and mentor team members in best practices for funnel management, prospecting, value selling, and CRM discipline
- Champion continuous improvement by leading workshops and sharing best practices across the team
- Travel up to 50% within the DACH region
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 7+ years in a client-facing sales role in the life sciences industry with a proven track record as a top performer
- Demonstrated success selling into the biopharma industry, particularly the cell and gene therapy client segments
- Proven end-to-end management of high-value deals ($1M+)
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field
- Deep technical knowledge of molecular and cell biology, including nucleic acids, gene editing, DNA plasmids, mRNA therapeutics, viral vector technologies, and ex-vivo cell therapy
- Experience in sales roles with Contract Development and/or Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CDMO/CMO) supporting Cell and Gene Therapies, or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to lead and align cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Ability to travel up to 50% in the DACH region
- Based in Germany
Preferred:
- MS or PhD in a scientific discipline
- Quantitative demonstration of consistent territory growth
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies
