We are representing a confidential financial services organization in Trinidad and Tobago seeking an exceptional executive to lead their API strategy and digital ecosystem initiatives. Our client is building a modern, API-first platform approach and needs a visionary leader who can bridge business strategy with technology innovation. You'll establish governance frameworks, drive Open Banking initiatives, build developer ecosystems, and position APIs as core products that generate measurable business value.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise-wide API strategy aligned with business objectives and digital transformation goals
• Establish API governance frameworks, architecture standards, and lifecycle management policies across the organization
• Lead Open Banking, Open Finance, and Embedded Finance API initiatives ensuring regulatory compliance and industry standard adherence
• Build and manage developer communities, partner ecosystems, and third-party integration programs
• Oversee the complete API lifecycle from design and development through deployment, versioning, documentation, and retirement
• Develop API monetization models, pricing strategies, and new revenue streams through API products and services
• Ensure API security, authentication, authorization, and data protection standards meet cybersecurity best practices
• Drive adoption of modern API technologies including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native platforms
• Monitor API performance, consumption trends, ecosystem growth metrics, and business outcomes through analytics frameworks
• Build and lead high-performing teams across API product management, engineering, architecture, and developer relations

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• 12+ years of leadership experience in API management, enterprise architecture, digital platforms, software engineering, fintech, or technology sectors
• Proven track record developing and managing enterprise API ecosystems with measurable business impact
• Strong background in Open Banking, Open Finance, platform strategies, or digital transformation initiatives
• Experience leading large-scale integration programs and building developer ecosystem communities

Technical Expertise:

• Deep knowledge of API design and architecture including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and event-driven APIs
• Expertise with API gateways, management platforms, and developer portals
• Understanding of Open Banking and Open Finance standards and regulatory requirements
• Strong foundation in cloud computing, microservices, enterprise integration, and platform management
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, identity management, data governance, and privacy frameworks

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required
• MBA or Master's degree strongly preferred
