About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential government services organization in their search for a Hmong Document Reviewer. Our client supports federal litigation portfolios with advanced eDiscovery capabilities and litigation support services. This is a full-time, mid-level position available remotely within the United States.

As a recruiter working on behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced professional fluent in Hmong and Chinese to join a fast-paced in-house legal team supporting critical government matters.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and draft responses for post-conviction motions and memorandums on questions of law for direct appeals and pretrial motions in Federal Court
  • Examine, prepare, and process complex legal documents including motions, orders, answers, pleadings, subpoenas, indictments, complaints, search warrants, and judgments
  • Review incoming materials and obtain needed information from case files, law enforcement agencies, or other sources; submit completed legal documents for attorney review and approval
  • Ensure all legal documents conform to governing rules for style and format
  • Assist attorneys in preparing trial notebooks, assembling jury instructions, and compiling witness and exhibit lists
  • Prepare discovery for plaintiffs and defendants in accordance with governing rules and regulations
  • Use legal resources to verify citations and statutory references, ensuring accuracy and consistency with source material
  • Establish and maintain files for attorneys; search legal reference files and assemble exhibits, affidavits, and other legal documents
  • Organize files and records for disposition or transfer to records depositories
  • Produce written documents utilizing various office software applications, integrating output from databases, spreadsheets, and word processing tools

What We're Looking For

  • Required: Law Degree (J.D.)
  • Required: Fluency in Hmong and Chinese languages
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience on litigation support projects
  • Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
  • Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases (document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging software
  • Hands-on familiarity with ESI (Electronically Stored Information) tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
  • Proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys
