Senior Project Management Officer (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting organization in Berlin that is seeking a Senior Project Management Officer to join their growing project operations team. This role offers substantial responsibility in supporting complex IT and business transformation initiatives while working in a flexible, modern environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous support to project leads and the Project Management Office in day-to-day operations
• Prepare, coordinate, moderate, and independently conduct working sessions, status meetings, and client appointments
• Track and escalate open items and action points across multiple projects
• Assume deputy project leadership responsibilities, potentially including full project leadership roles
• Ensure quality assurance and reporting around project deliverables, including deriving steering requirements from project metrics
• Conduct quality management sessions with project leaders
• Develop and evolve PMO processes, methodologies, and templates while ensuring compliance
• Contribute to training new consultants on project management through onboarding, training sessions, and workshops

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in project environments, with substantial PMO or project management experience
• Strong knowledge of common project management methods and tools
• Certification in IPMA, PMP, or agile methodologies (preferred)
• Meticulous, structured work style with excellent prioritization skills and independent problem identification
• Strong communication and organizational abilities with confident, friendly demeanor and skilled escalation management
• German language proficiency at C1 level minimum
• Comfortable in IT environments with advanced proficiency in MS Office/Microsoft 365 products
• Analytical and conceptual thinking with fundamental understanding of project calculations
• Experience with risk management and quality gates
• Confident presence in complex organizational settings with clear, binding communication style
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI tools in professional workflows
• Industry knowledge in housing/real estate or SAP environments (advantageous)
