High School Computer Science Teacher

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential K-12 virtual education organization seeking a qualified High School Computer Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time, remote position for candidates residing in North Carolina who hold or can obtain a valid North Carolina High School teaching certification with appropriate subject endorsement.

You'll deliver computer science curriculum in an online environment, working from your home office while partnering closely with students and families to advance individualized learning goals. Occasional travel (approximately once per month) will be required for professional development, student testing, and school events.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous computer science instruction tailored to high school students
• Differentiate instruction based on each student's mastery level and learning pace
• Maintain accurate grade books, monitor academic integrity, and communicate student progress to families and administrators
• Build positive relationships with students and learning coaches, responding promptly to questions and concerns
• Support families with curricular guidance and basic technical troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting
• Prepare students for standardized assessments and track performance data to inform instructional decisions
• Collaborate with fellow educators and participate in regular coaching sessions with administrators
• Travel as needed for professional development, testing administration, and school functions

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• Active North Carolina High School teaching certification (CRE) with Computer Science endorsement or eligibility
• Current residency in North Carolina
• Ability to clear background checks
• Professional home office space free from distractions during standard business hours
• Availability to work 40+ hours per week independently

Preferred:

• Experience teaching high school-aged students
• Background in online or blended learning environments
• Familiarity with learning management systems and virtual classroom platforms
• Strong data literacy—ability to interpret student performance metrics and adjust instruction accordingly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Comfort with technology adoption and willingness to learn new platforms quickly
• Collaborative mindset and openness to regular coaching and feedback

Pay

The client offers a base salary of $46,000 plus eligibility for performance bonuses. Compensation is determined by education, experience, qualifications, and work location.
