Head of Finance Automation/ AI Agentification

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Head of Finance Automation/AI to own and scale their live AI programme across group finance operations. You will take existing agents already in production—processing invoices, chasing payments, allocating cash—and transform them from promising experiments into the way finance actually runs.

You will report directly to the Group CFO and inherit a small team with a live roadmap. Your remit includes:

• Owning the AI and automation agenda across finance, from strategy through delivery to measured impact
• Leading process redesign: mapping current state, then designing an agentic-first future rather than automating legacy steps
• Driving complex cross-functional programmes across Finance, Technology and Operations
• Redesigning core finance processes around AI and agents, starting with close, reporting and forecasting
• Building and shipping solutions yourself when it's faster, using AI-assisted tools to create agents and connect systems
• Leading and growing the team while raising AI fluency across finance and shared services
• Tracking automation rate, close time, cash allocation speed, cost savings and effort reduction
• Rolling out solutions across five markets, balancing local requirements against group standards

What We're Looking For

Our client needs a sharp generalist who can walk into a messy process, find the real problem, and fix it. You're as comfortable in a CFO briefing as you are building with AI-first tools.

Essential experience:

• Track record leading transformation or automation programmes that actually delivered
• Background in strategy consulting, transformation roles, operations or as a generalist operator
• Strong understanding of finance processes gained through finance transformation, operating model redesign or automation programmes
• Hands-on with AI: able to build agents and integrate APIs with AI assistance (you're not a software engineer, but the tooling doesn't scare you)
• Experience setting baselines, naming owners, hitting deadlines and escalating early when needed
• Ability to lead a small team while remaining hands-on with the work
• Fluent English; additional languages advantageous
• Willingness to travel regularly (minimum 4 days per month)
