General/Senior Accountant

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AI technology organization in Paris. We are seeking a General/Senior Accountant to join their growing finance function. This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of diverse accounting operations, harmonize processes across multiple international entities, and build scalable financial systems during a period of significant growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting processes across multiple entities, covering general ledger, cash management, fixed assets, revenue recognition, payroll, procurement, and intercompany transactions
• Transition accounting functions from external service providers to internal operations
• Prepare comprehensive documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles with accuracy and timeliness
• Ensure compliance with tax and social security obligations including VAT, corporate income tax, and payroll taxes, collaborating with local advisors as needed
• Support preparation of statutory financial statements for French and international entities
• Collaborate with statutory auditors throughout audit processes
• Drive optimization and automation of accounting and financial workflows through enhanced use of ERP systems, billing platforms, and treasury management tools

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Accounting or Finance (DCG, DSCG, Master's degree, or equivalent qualification)
• Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience
• At least 2 years working in an accounting services firm, ideally supporting startups, technology companies, or publicly traded organizations
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and/or French accounting standards (PCG)
• Fluent English required (spoken and written); French language skills are advantageous
• Excellent analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong prioritization skills
• Proactive mindset with demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
