About the Role

This G-LPN (Neuro) position is integral to Mercy's neurology department, where you'll apply your clinical knowledge and hands-on skills to support the care needs of patients with neurological conditions. You'll function as a licensed practical nurse within a collaborative team framework, reporting to and working under the direction of registered nurses and licensed physicians who oversee medical treatment and medication administration.

What You'll Do

• Execute the nursing process to assess, plan, and implement patient-centered care for assigned neurological patients
• Monitor vital signs, patient responses to treatment, and neurological status changes, communicating findings to the care team
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient hygiene while promoting dignity and comfort
• Prepare and administer medications under the supervision of licensed prescribers
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation
• Coordinate care activities with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain a safe, clean patient environment and follow infection control protocols

What We're Looking For

• Current Louisiana Practical Nurse license (G-LPN)
• Strong foundation in patient care, clinical assessment, and care coordination
• Ability to work effectively under supervision and within a team-based environment
• Compassion, reliability, and commitment to professional nursing standards
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail in patient documentation
• Willingness to support specialized neurology patient populations
