Front-End Developer

Version 1 is recruiting a Front-End Developer for a full-time remote position supporting its Public Sector and Utilities consulting practice across Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to work on user-facing applications that serve government and infrastructure clients from your own location.

About the Role

As a Front-End Developer with Version 1, you'll be responsible for designing and building responsive, accessible web interfaces and applications. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere whilst contributing to meaningful projects that enhance digital services for the public sector and utilities organisations across Ireland. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, backend engineers, and product managers, to translate requirements into polished, performant user experiences.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain front-end codebases using modern frameworks and libraries
• Create responsive, accessible user interfaces that work across browsers and devices
• Collaborate with designers to implement visual designs and user experience specifications
• Optimise application performance and ensure fast load times
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
• Test features thoroughly and troubleshoot issues in the front-end layer
• Contribute to the full development lifecycle from discovery through deployment

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience developing front-end applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
• Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a remote team environment
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in user-centred design
