Fincrime Analyst (Relocation to Luxembourg)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a skilled Fincrime Analyst to join their Luxembourg office. This role requires relocation to Luxembourg and offers an exceptional opportunity to lead surveillance and detection of fraudulent activity within a high-growth digital payments environment.

As the successful candidate, you'll take ownership of real-time transaction monitoring, manage complex alert escalations, and directly influence the evolution of fraud detection systems through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve high-volume transaction monitoring alerts, making swift decisions on complex customer behaviors and potential illicit activities
• Serve as the escalation point for complex alerts, conducting deep-dive investigations to determine appropriate next steps including regulatory filings
• Provide actionable feedback to product and data teams to refine transaction monitoring rules and detection logic
• Identify workflow bottlenecks and propose tactical improvements to increase team efficiency and reduce false positives
• Coach and onboard junior analysts, sharing best practices in transaction analysis, pattern recognition, and case documentation
• Ensure all resolved alerts meet regulatory standards with clear, defensible documentation
• Research emerging financial crime trends globally and translate findings into production-ready detection rules

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in transaction monitoring, real-time fraud operations, or KYT surveillance within fintech, digital banking, or payment processing environments
• Subject matter expertise in transaction monitoring principles, payment flows, velocity patterns, and regulatory frameworks (FATF, EU Directives, PSD3/SCA)
• Professional industry certifications such as CAMS or CFE are highly valued
• High proficiency with data analytics tools (Looker, Splunk, HEX, Redshift) and basic SQL for querying large transactional datasets
• Proven track record of identifying gaps in automated detection models and designing logic-driven monitoring scenarios
• Demonstrated ability to guide peers, design training modules, and elevate team analytical capabilities
• Exceptional ability to synthesize complex transaction data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Extreme attention to detail, resilience under high-volume alert conditions, and strong ethical judgment
• Willingness to relocate to Luxembourg
