About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential game development organization seeking an experienced Environment Artist for a permanent, full-time remote position based in Malaysia or Indonesia. Our client is working on exciting AAA projects with announcements planned for early 2026, and you'll collaborate with seasoned developers from world-class studios.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality environment art for AAA game projects
• Build, iterate, and optimize environments that support gameplay, narrative, and artistic direction
• Collaborate closely with art direction, level design, and technical art teams to build performant and visually impressive worlds
• Apply modular and kit-based approaches to environment art
• Troubleshoot issues related to performance, consistency, and technical constraints across platforms
• Contribute to visual benchmarks and help establish best practices for environment art workflows
• Create and apply textures and materials optimally across environments

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of proven experience as an Environment Artist on shipped AAA or high-quality game projects
• Strong portfolio demonstrating environment art fundamentals and processes
• Proficiency with modern game engines (Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines)
• Lighting experience with general understanding of lighting workflows, including baking and performance impacts
• Experience with PBR workflows and optimization for real-time environments
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and iterate quickly based on feedback
• Experience with profiling, debugging, or scripting for workflow automation
• Must possess appropriate working rights to live and work in Malaysia or Indonesia – visa sponsorship and relocation are not available
