Engineering Manager – Linux Hardware Enablement

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential Linux technology organization seeking an Engineering Manager to lead hardware enablement initiatives. In this role, you will manage a distributed engineering team that partners with silicon manufacturers to optimize Linux systems across desktop, server, and IoT platforms. This is a fast-paced, problem-solving position requiring strong technical leadership and the ability to deliver complex solutions across diverse hardware ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a distributed team of engineers designing and implementing Linux integrations for next-generation IoT and server-class hardware platforms
• Manage relationships with commercial silicon partners to deliver optimized hardware experiences
• Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback
• Oversee commercial engagements and ensure timely delivery of project milestones
• Maintain commitment to quality and reliability standards across all deliverables
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align on product architecture and roadmaps
• Work remotely with global travel up to twice yearly for approximately two weeks

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience with Linux distributions, debian packaging, and server-class hardware
• Proven track record working directly with customers to resolve technical issues and translate business challenges into solutions
• Demonstrated experience managing or leading software engineering teams
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal teams while building trust and delivering results
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent university-level qualification, preferably in a technology field
• Technical leadership experience with background in software engineering
