Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join their national team. Responsibilities
- Perform financial analysis, pricing, and risk assessment to estimate healthcare cost outcomes and support business decision-making
- Connect eligibility, revenue, claims, provider, and other healthcare data sources to identify and quantify savings opportunities
- Work with large relational datasets and navigate varying levels of data granularity to consolidate and prepare key input data
- Build actuarial models with clear, flexible assumption inputs and summarized outputs
- Apply mathematics, probability, statistics, and principles of finance to calculate financial outcomes
- Develop probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information
- Analyze and evaluate premium rates and assess cash reserves and liabilities
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to project leadership, team management, and executive stakeholders
- Participate in merger and acquisition analysis as needed
- Develop and run data reports to support ongoing analysis
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Must meet the "Rule of 5": Combined years of actuarial experience and number of passed actuarial exams must equal or exceed 5 (for example, 2 years experience + 3 exams, or 3 years experience + 2 exams)
- Demonstrated progress toward an actuarial credential (ASA, FSA, or equivalent) through successful completion of actuarial exams
- Experience with healthcare analytics, cost trend analysis, or medical claims analysis strongly preferred
- Proficiency working with large relational datasets and database query tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment
