About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential digital agency in Germany that's redefining how organizations achieve visibility in both traditional search engines and AI-powered answer systems. This isn't your typical SEO role—our client is looking for someone who thinks beyond rankings and keywords to build intelligent, automated workflows that scale search optimization across Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and emerging AI platforms.

You'll lead the evolution of SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategy, combining deep technical expertise with AI-driven automation to help clients maintain visibility as search itself transforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own SEO and GEO strategies for client projects, ensuring visibility across traditional search engines and AI-based answer systems
• Analyze websites, search behavior, and competitive landscapes to identify technical and content optimization opportunities
• Monitor and optimize brand, product, and content visibility within AI search systems—improving citation rates and brand presence in generated answers
• Design AI-powered SEO and GEO workflows that automate recurring analysis, monitoring, and research processes using agents and appropriate tooling
• Test new models, tools, and approaches, integrating valuable solutions into production workflows
• Collaborate closely with development teams, project managers, and clients to ensure quality outcomes
• Build systems that enable faster analysis, opportunity identification, and impact measurement rather than manual task execution

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Substantial hands-on SEO experience with strong understanding of on-page, content, and technical SEO
• Proven practical experience with GEO and AI Search, including deep knowledge of how AI-based search and answer systems discover information, incorporate sources, and generate responses
• Experience building AI-powered workflows, automations, or agents with strong affinity for emerging technologies
• Strong analytical thinking with ability to derive concrete optimization measures from data
• Proficiency with standard SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, SISTRIX, or Google Search Console
• Independent, structured work style with excellent communication skills
• Fluent German and solid English language skills

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with APIs and connecting different systems and data sources
• Technical understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and structured data
• Experience with international SEO or GEO projects
• Track record independently conceiving and implementing AI agents, automations, or comparable AI projects
