About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential enterprise learning technology organization in their search for a Director-level product leader to own skills intelligence systems and structured learning experiences.

This is a strategic product role built for someone who has shipped learning platforms at scale and understands what it takes to help people actually develop capabilities. You'll own both the intelligence layer—how skills are defined, organized, and measured—and the learning experiences where those insights turn into real skill development. Learner outcomes stay at the center of every decision.

The strongest candidates are fluent in both learning product design and data systems architecture, and insist that neither works without the other.

Responsibilities

Learning Experiences

• Shape self-paced pathways and cohort-based programs that enterprise clients use to deliver certifications, onboarding, and structured learning
• Own how skill data powers personalized recommendations—deciding what content gets suggested to a learner next
• Direct AI features that identify skill gaps and generate content to close them
• Design the full learner journey: how someone finds a gap, engages with content, and demonstrates they've closed it

Skills Intelligence

• Own the data model behind the skills product: how skills are defined, organized, and kept accurate as the system grows
• Run the platform enterprise clients use to adapt skill taxonomies to their internal language, combining AI with human review
• Design proficiency rating scales with clear, observable distinctions between levels
• Keep skill data compatible with external frameworks and enterprise HR systems
• Build the process by which every AI interaction improves underlying skill data, and measure that improvement with real metrics
• Evolve the skills model by making deliberate trade-offs between consistency, customer flexibility, and long-term product health

What We're Looking For

Experience: 8+ years, including direct ownership of shipped learning products

Core Skills:

• You've shipped learning platforms that measurably helped people build skills, and you can point to outcomes—not just launches
• Deep understanding of how large organizations structure learning: academies, certifications, career paths, cohort programs
• Assessment design experience: you can define proficiency scales and explain distinctions between levels when challenged. Background in psychometrics or learning assessment is a strong advantage
• Taxonomy design depth: you've built classification systems that stay useful as domains evolve. Familiarity with frameworks like O*NET and ESCO preferred
• Data product mindset: you've managed structured data with clear ownership, versioning, quality standards, and well-defined interfaces
• Long-term systems thinking: you design systems that grow more accurate as data accumulates, and you define the metrics that prove improvement
• ML fluency: you understand how models consume training data well enough to work effectively with engineers and evaluate data quality and bias
• Judgment in ambiguous situations where standardized definitions and customer requirements don't fully align
• Comfort using AI to accelerate taxonomy research and prototype changes
