Business Unit Lead (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology client in their search for a Business Unit Lead (m/w/d) based in Munich on a hybrid work model. This is a leadership role with full P&L responsibility for strategic client accounts within a defined industry vertical.

In this position, you will take entrepreneurial ownership of key accounts, drive performance through data-driven decision-making, and build high-performing teams. You'll act as a strategic partner to clients while setting new standards for quality and operational excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Take full P&L responsibility for revenue growth and profitability across assigned client accounts
• Create high-quality client presentations, strategic documents, and executive business reviews independently
• Translate complex client requirements into structured, actionable decision frameworks
• Manage the complete value chain from delivery and commercials through to client satisfaction
• Identify and implement growth opportunities including scaling successful solutions and developing new business potential
• Use KPIs and deep analytics to identify performance levers and root causes, deriving clear action plans
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients at senior levels, developing deep understanding of their business models
• Proactively develop value-add opportunities including upselling and process optimization
• Lead and develop a team of approximately 5 Operations Managers
• Coach team members toward ownership mindset, analytical thinking, and commercial understanding
• Set new standards in quality, structure, and operational excellence across the local organization
• Travel regularly to Sofia (3-4 days per week) and occasionally to other locations for team collaboration

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, or big-tech environments
• Proven track record in leading and developing teams
• Strong analytical and structured thinking with excellent problem-solving capabilities
• Entrepreneurial mindset focused on impact, ownership, and continuous improvement
• Confident presence with strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to influence and convince stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to C-suite
• High quality standards with structured, solution-oriented working style
• Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel (storylining, complex analyses)
• Fluent German and English language skills required
• Willingness to be present in Sofia regularly (3-4 days per week)
• Flexibility for occasional travel to other German locations
