Responsibilities

We are representing a leading foodtech organization in Paris seeking a Director of Product to drive the full product strategy and execution. In this role, you will own the end-to-end product vision—from culinary development and recipe innovation to product analytics and commercial decision-making. You will manage the cost of goods budget directly and be accountable for its P&L impact.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Build and scale a high-performing product team: Lead a multidisciplinary team across culinary, recipe development, product innovation, and analytics. Set a clear vision, establish effective working rhythms, and invest in team development to support the next growth phase.
  • Define and challenge the product vision: Develop an ambitious, customer-informed product strategy rooted in the French market. Ensure access to data and insights needed for informed decision-making. Push the organization beyond the current roadmap by questioning assumptions and prioritizing high-impact initiatives.
  • Drive customer retention and commercial performance: Make retention your north star. Build a data-driven understanding of retention drivers and mobilize the team around meaningful actions. Make product decisions with full awareness of financial implications, take calculated risks, measure results honestly, and adjust quickly when needed. Collaborate closely with Operations teams (Procurement, Quality, Production) to coordinate local and global product initiatives.
  • Align product and marketing strategy: Partner closely with brand and marketing to ensure product roadmap and marketing strategy are fully synchronized. Serve as the voice of product in the leadership team, presenting a compelling vision of where the product should go and why.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 8–10+ years in Product, Strategy, or similar commercial leadership roles, ideally in food, FMCG, meal kits, or subscription businesses
  • Management experience: Minimum 3 years managing multidisciplinary teams at various career levels, with a track record of coaching, providing clear direction, and developing talent
  • Technical skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides; curiosity and comfort with AI tools essential
  • Action-oriented leadership: You set direction, bring your team along, and roll up your sleeves to make things happen
  • Customer-focused and analytically rigorous: Comfortable interrogating data and challenging assumptions. Able to dive into details, connect to the bigger picture, and communicate insights clearly
  • Business-oriented: You understand how product decisions impact costs and revenue, and hold yourself accountable for results, not just deliverables
  • Cross-functional collaborator: You build trust quickly, drive progress through influence, and know how to get priorities onto other teams' agendas
  • Strong problem-solver: Comfortable with ambiguity, determined to find solutions, with a natural bias for action
  • Excellent communicator: You write and present with clarity and conviction—whether for strategic narratives, leadership updates, or product briefs
  • Organized and structured: Solid project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Food passionate: Ability to transform market trends and signals into compelling product offerings
  • Language: Fluency in French and English required
