Director Digital Transformation & Operational Excellence

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global medical products organization in their search for a Director of Digital Transformation & Operational Excellence. This is a strategic leadership role focused on modernizing manufacturing and quality systems through AI, advanced analytics, and Industry 4.0 technologies across an international production network.

This remote position is linked to offices in Lexington, Boston, Massachusetts or the UK, and reports directly into global operations leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the digital transformation strategy for global manufacturing operations
• Lead deployment of AI-driven solutions and multivariate data analysis (MVDA) across the manufacturing network
• Drive measurable improvements in product quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance
• Build and present investment cases to secure funding for digital transformation initiatives
• Develop scalable digital platforms and enterprise architectures that support validated manufacturing processes
• Ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO, and other relevant standards) across all digital implementations
• Drive standardization of manufacturing processes and establish governance frameworks across global sites
• Lead cross-functional programs and manage stakeholder alignment across multiple geographies
• Advance operational excellence maturity through change management and best practice deployment

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience leading digital transformation, smart manufacturing, or operational excellence programs in complex manufacturing environments
• Deep expertise in AI/ML, MVDA, advanced analytics, process control, and Industry 4.0 technologies
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and validated manufacturing processes in regulated industries
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale transformation initiatives across global organizations
• Demonstrated success with stakeholder alignment and change management in multinational settings
• Ability to combine technical depth with strategic business leadership to drive scalable solutions and measurable operational improvements
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities
• Strong sense of integrity and accountability when managing high-visibility transformation programs
