Product Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential insurtech client in their search for a Product Lead based in London. This is a remote-first role where you'll own an entire product area—setting vision, making build decisions, and directly leading the engineers who ship it. This combined accountability for product strategy and team delivery is central to how our client operates.

You'll begin by focusing on group insurance offerings: health, dental, vision, critical illness, life and income protection. The core challenge is translating complex underwriting and compliance requirements into employee-facing workflows that can be completed in minutes. As the business scales into new markets and product lines, your remit will shift to wherever impact matters most. High ownership and adaptability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, strategy and product decisions for your area
• Lead and develop a team of product engineers, coaching on scope and delivery rather than ticket assignment
• Shape and run six-week development cycles for new features and third-party integrations
• Simplify insurer onboarding, plan configuration, premium management and benefit administration workflows
• Work cross-functionally with support, customer success, sales and operations teams who all depend on what you build
• Translate regulatory and underwriting complexity into intuitive user experiences
• Maintain a high quality bar and fast shipping cadence across your team
• Adapt your focus as the company enters new markets and launches additional product lines

What We're Looking For

• Product leadership at lead, staff or principal level; strong senior candidates considered if other criteria align
• Experience owning vision and strategy for a product area, not just executing a roadmap handed to you
• Entrepreneurial background—founder, early-stage startup, or engineering-to-product transition
• Comfort with fluid scope and unfamiliar domains; you've ramped quickly in new areas before
• Genuine cross-functional collaboration with support, success and sales, beyond occasional customer calls
• Track record in high-quality-bar environments, visible in the products you've shipped
• Clear, outcome-focused communication (written and verbal)
• Scale-up experience, roughly Series A–D; seed-stage a plus
• People management experience or readiness to start
• Domain alignment: fintech, insurtech, HR tech, benefits, employee expenses or travel—any B2B2C model serving both HR buyers and end employees

Pay

Pay details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive for a London-based Product Lead role at a well-funded scale-up.
