Director, Cloud & Managed Services – Remote US

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization seeking a Director of Cloud & Managed Services to lead their cloud platform strategy and operations. In this remote role, you will:

• Lead and scale a Cloud and Managed Services team supporting business growth across SaaS, managed services, and customer-managed deployment models
• Define and execute the roadmap for deployment automation, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering capabilities
• Establish DevOps and Platform Engineering best practices including Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and release automation
• Provide operational leadership ensuring high availability, scalability, reliability, and continuous improvement of cloud-hosted services
• Drive standardization and automation across all deployment models to reduce manual effort and accelerate customer delivery
• Ensure cloud platforms operate in accordance with security-by-design principles, regulatory requirements, and organizational security policies
• Manage strategic planning, prioritization, and resource allocation, balancing competing priorities and stakeholder needs
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and ensuring customer success
• Lead incident and problem resolution, coordinating with cross-functional teams
• Participate in pre-sales activities and contribute to marketing materials, RFX responses, and contract development
• Establish program governance structures and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and ITIL practices

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of senior cloud operations leadership experience within IT and cloud management services, with client consulting experience in healthcare technology environments
• 5+ years with in-depth understanding of ITSM framework and best practices, including networking, cloud, cyber security, and enterprise IT support
• 3+ years working with cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes engineering teams to develop and deliver modern technology solutions
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Significant experience leading software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure engineering teams responsible for automation tooling or cloud platform development
• Proven track record growing and scaling cloud operations and managed services capabilities with a strong customer focus
• Deep understanding of how healthcare organizations consume cloud services and evolving cloud technologies
• Experience building or managing deployment automation platforms utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, or comparable automation frameworks
• Strong strategic thinking abilities with capacity to align IT programs with business priorities and drive organizational transformation
• Experience ensuring alignment with security frameworks and industry standards including ITIL, HITRUST, ISO 27001/27017/27018, and SOC-2 certifications
• Professional experience negotiating and managing client contracts, service levels, and contractual obligations
• Deep understanding of cloud pricing and budget management
• Experience implementing enterprise observability platforms including logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and alerting
• Relevant certifications (CISM, CCSP, CISSP, ITIL, TOGAF) are an asset
